Dr. Katharine Legaspi
Dentistry is truly in Dr. Katharine’s DNA — she is a third-generation dentist proudly following in the footsteps of her grandmother, mother, aunt, and older sister. Before opening Smile Haus Dental Studio, she worked alongside her mother in the Bay Area, gaining invaluable experience in two thriving family practices. Dr. Katharine earned her bachelor’s in biology from the University of San Francisco and her doctor of dental medicine from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Captivated by the desert during her training, she returned to Arizona and now calls Gilbert home. She is passionate about replacing dental fear with genuine comfort and trust through a gentle, personalized approach that makes every patient feel genuinely valued — and outside the office, she loves scary movies, music events, and spending time with her beloved cockapoos Molly and Koda.
Dr. Kent Spurling
A native of Mesa, Dr. Spurling graduated as a Regents Scholar from Mountain View High School, earned his bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude in biochemistry from Arizona State University, and graduated at the top of his class at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry on scholarship. He received an officer’s commission and trained under leading specialists in the United States Air Force Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency — serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and maintaining his commission in the Air Force Reserve. Dr. Spurling holds associate fellowship status from the World Clinical Laser Institute and fellowship status in the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the California Implant Institute. He lives in Mesa with his wife Viviana and their children, Luke, Christopher, and Emilia. He finds balance as a teacher at his church and a dedicated father and husband.
